Haritha lalanam’  - ATMA Project at SOS village, Mulayam, Thrissur

Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) which is an alliance of various departments coming under the primary productive system started functioning in the district from 2007. Under the Action Plan 2010-11, it has earmarked an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs for the innovative activities of which Rs. 2 lakhs has already been spent for Harithasanthwanam, which was a project implemented in Alpha Pain and Palliative Care Unit, Edamuttam.  The project being a success instigated the department to go ahead with the component’s activities. Thus came the proposal to implement a project at SOS, Children’s’ Village, Mulayam.

SOS Children’s’ villages are nongovernmental organizations which have been working to meet needs and protect the interests and rights of children since 1949. The organization’s work focuses on abandoned, destitute and orphaned children requiring family based child care.

SOS Children’s’ village campus consists of 12 acres of land with 17 homes for accommodating children. One mother is appointed in each home, who manages daily care of 10 children who study in various institutions.

ATMA insist on partnership of all the stakeholders functioning in the field. It is highly essential to join in hands with Non Governmental Organizations contributing in the well being of the society. Hence the innovative project, Harithalalanam is being proposed to be implemented as a public-private partnership.
